“When people learn to embrace achievement, they get hooked on it… When adults (and kids) see the power of self-direction and realize the benefits of mutual support, they tend to seek it out over and over again.” Seth Godin
Correct unwanted teen behavior through:
- 1. Embracing Achievement
- 2. The Power of Self-Direction
- 3. Mutual Support
Recognize the achievements your teen makes, even if all you do is say, “Nice Job!” or “You must be so proud of yourself.”
Encourage and provide opportunities for your teen to do things for himself. The more he does the less you have to do.
Let your teen know that you are there for him when he needs you. If you do he will reciprocate when you least expect it.
